The opportunity

Overview

Micom Security is a Geelong-based total security business that designs, installs and services security systems, access control, CCTV and video intercom for residential and business clients across the region. Established in 1991 and owner-operated ever since, it holds ASIAL Platinum Corporate Membership and has built one of the strongest technical reputations in the region over more than 30 years.

The owner has deliberately scaled the business back ahead of retirement. That means an incoming owner acquires an established brand, a long client history and a clear runway to rebuild revenue — rather than a business in decline.

The Business

The business is run by the owner-operator plus one technician. The owner performs the technically demanding work — site visits, quoting, programming and drawings — which a suitably experienced buyer can step into directly or progressively delegate as the team rebuilds. Retaining the technician through handover assists continuity.

The sale is a genuine retirement. The vendor provides a standard 30-day free training period and remains available by phone and email post-settlement, so handover disruption is expected to be minimal.
